About Loud and Clear: I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews or re-bookings.

This book is really helpful, it’s helping me to provide feedback that is more personalized for the student opposed to reviewing the class concepts covered. It’s great to get a perspective from someone who has lived in China to help me understand a bit more of what parents really want. Thanks Ed!

This is an excellent resource! It helps me know how to word what I need to say. It also gives great insight into WHY it is important! I will definitely recommend to others. Thank you so much, Ed, for compiling this!

I don’t know Ed, but I do know that his book is awesome!! I’ve been teaching for 17 years and with vipkid for 1 year. I didn’t have much ELL experience before vipkid, so a lot to learn. Not only does Ed’s book help with feedback, but it also helps with teaching methods. I feel like my classroom has been transformed in the week since I bought the book! I have already received glowing responses (and apples) to my new feedback and homework suggestions (tailored to each student). Thanks, Ed!

I watched my Feedback score nearly triple within a few weeks of purchasing the original loud and clear e-book. After seeing such great return on my investment, I figured the expanded edition would definitely be worth my time and money. I was absolutely right! I reference it daily when writing parent feedback, and it has been so beneficial in helping me to word feedback in a way that is both culturally sensitive and useful for the parents. To boot, I have learned how to find the silver lining in even the most frustrating of classroom experiences. Thank you Ed for your labor of love! It is much appreciated and the best teacher resource I have purchased for VIPKID!

This book has been most helpful. It gave me a greater understanding of Chinese culture and parent expectations. It has helped me write more meaningful feedback It has made it possible for me to pinpoint students strengths and weaknesses and showed me how to address them in the feedback. I use it daily. Best $40 I have spent on teaching supplies!!

Ed’s book was a game-changer! As a new teacher, I was struggling with what parents were looking for in feedback, how much time I spent creating feedback, and just coming up with fresh ideas in general! Ed’s book offers so much insight into the process. After reading it, I was able to reflect on my previous feedback and realize that I could cut out all of the unnecessary stuff, and get straight to the point of HOW the student is ACTUALLY doing, what they do well, and offering practical advice for what they can improve upon. Ed offers a plethora of different scenarios, to address nearly any situation you may find in the classroom. His guidance comes from a cultural perspective, and is delivered in a fun and easy-to-follow way. His book goes beyond just “writing” feedback, he addresses many topics that teachers wonder about but just don’t know where to look. This material is insightful and invaluable, and definitely helps if you are an over-thinker like I am! Feedback is a much more manageable task with Ed’s book! 🙂
