About Loud and Clear: I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews or re-bookings.

Ed Nace I wanted to come back and thank you for your book Loud and Clear that I have had for a while. I have been using it this past week a lot and read through most of it. Thank you for the challenges you give to teachers to be even better. I have had 2 students, the one I reached out to you about, and another one who have become regulars now and we are all moving in the right direction. The other student took 4 classes mostly logging off and answering “I don’t know!” (even though I knew he knew!). Today, he stayed the whole time and had a perfect class. WHAT?! I would have been so fed up with him before, but with your encouragement and wisdom, I was able to see him as a great kid who needed more support and interaction. I can’t wait to see how else this book helps me. Thanks again!

WOW, Ed!
I just got TextExpander using your link from the YouTube Video. I’m very excited to get your snippets!
Your two wonderful ebooks have made a BIG difference in my teaching and my communication with parents. I bought Loud and Clear when it first came out. I had just started teaching. Very soon after that I began getting regular students, many of whom I still teach today. When Above and Beyond came out, I got that book too. My teaching improved even more.
It’s been two years now. Almost every student I teach is a regular. Most only take classes from me. I stay at 40-50 percent feedback. I give you a LOT of the credit for this. Your teaching style and methods fit with mine very well. Your book helped me understand WHY I do what I do. That helped me do it better, and more effectively. Your book also helped me explain this to parents. Now I can’t wait to get started with TextExpander!
Thank you again! –Theresa

I have read your books and will be eternally grateful for the insight that is included in every book. It has been a game changer for me. Reading your books has helped me understand and appreciate the cultural norms and expectations of my students and their families. I owe part of my success to you. Thanks, Ed!

This book is amazingly helpful! My feedbacks prior to investing in this book was boring and not really meaningful. However, after reading it, I have changed everything in the way I approach leaving feedback and it has drastically increased the amount of parents leaving me 5 apple feedback! I highly recommend buying this book!

I read Ed’s book and immediately regretted not purchasing the expanded edition. Loud and Clear has completely shifted the way I write feedback. I use to copy and paste feedback. Now I really reflect back on my lesson. This has given me new insight into my kiddos and what they need most. I no longer focus on teaching to the slide, rather I teach to my student. I decided to go ahead and purchase the expanded version & Above and Beyond. I cannot wait to read them both! Thank you Ed for your insight and advice!

Thank you for writing this book! It has positively changed how I write the parent feedback.
As a former SPED teacher I knew how to write feedback, but it was far to detailed. Your book has reminded me to write the explanatory summaries of the day’s lesson!

Wow! Buy the books! They are worth every penny! Within three weeks my feedback percentages have increased by at least 5%! I know that does not sound like a lot, but prior to me revising my way of creating my feedbacks, each week the percent was dramatically decreasing. In addition, the parents actually write something rather than just leaving apples(don’t get me wrong, I love the 5 apples, but I wanted to know if my teaching was effective):
Student encouragement Error correction Appropriate Speech Patient Effective guidance Time Management Pronunciation Scaffolding Sufficient patience Energetic
Thank you so much teacher Rachelle for being so patient and kind to Sean! I appreciate for your detailed feedback which gave me more information about how Sean behave in the class. Thank you so much and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon. Sean is so lucky to have you as his English teacher.
Class Time 2020-01-05 19:30 (Beijing Time)Unit 1 – Lesson 6 Dinner Time
I cannot wait until I can get the third book!

I recommend this book all the time. A game changer.

As a lifelong science teacher in higher education, I searched for many resources to help as I began teaching ESL online. Ed’s book has had an immense positive impact on my teaching style, as well as my feedback style. I use Ed’s methods in every class, and I believe using Ed’s book as a resource is the main reason I’ve been successful as an online ESL teacher. Thank you!!

This book has been very helpful to me in writing feedback. Absolutely worth it! I feel better equipped to give parents useful feedback now instead of cut and paste templates.
