Description
I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews.
I also have an Expanded Edition of this book, available here!

I have loved using Ed’s book to really improve my understanding of what parents are looking for, and what’s important for an ESL learner. Rather than cut and paste, I’m now able to teach class with feedback in mind! This book is a fantastic resource and guide.

I’m a VIPKid minimalist, and I caved and invested in Ed’s book. THANK YOU, ED! It seems like you’ve really found your niche. You deserve all the great feedback you’re getting on your book. This will help me immensely.

Just wanted to add another ringing endorsement for Ed’s book. Today after an epic UA performance I wrote a particularly warm and personal note (inspired by Ed’s book) to a parent about how hard her son works and the specific progress he has made. This mom always leaves feedback but it’s usually “fine” or “very good.” Today, instead of just one or two words, she sent two amusing anecdotes about her son.Yay! I loved learning more about my student. It’s wonderful to be able to build a real bond with these families. I’m normally really terrible at putting my thoughts into words. It’s so helpful to have a framework to be able to communicate thoughtfully to parents. Thank you Ed!

I found Ed’s book to be extremely valuable. It occurred to me that the standard cut & paste feedback was lacking but I had nonidea how to make it more valuable. When I read Ed’s book, Loud and Clear, it helped me see what feedback parent’s are really looking for and what they find helpful and encouraging. Bonus: Ed includes info on the Chinese psyche re: learning and the appropriate way to phrase feedback for maximum results. I highly recommend Loud and Clear, and am looking forward to his next book release.

Ed’s book is straightforward and gets to the point we all want: how to write feedback that helps us get regular students who love us and leave us glowing reviews! It has also helped me in my teaching. I find that I am more conscious of my students’ problem areas and how to give solid advice after reading Ed’s book.

This is the most helpful book I’ve read since nursing school! Ed’s tips really made me focus more on what’s important while teaching so I can provide the most meaningful feedback. Since implementing Ed’s advice I am FINALLY consistently getting feedback from parents & my trial enrollments have doubled!! The book has paid for itself MANY times over!!

Join the “Feedback Revolution!” Really, Ed’s book has completely revolutionized my post-class feedback in many ways! Not only are the parents happier (and leaving their own feedback much more often,) but it has been instrumental in converting trial students and regulars. Most of all, my teaching has become more intentional and I truly believe that I have become a better teacher by implementing Ed’s suggestions!
