Description
I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews.
I also have an Expanded Edition of this book, available here!

He should be charging more for this! Having an insight into what the parents are thinking is so helpful when writing feedback. Extremely helpful and easy to read.

I love this! It really opened my eyes to a better way of giving feedback to parents that is useful and culturally relevant. I now put much more thought into what I leave for parents. I know I would want that from my children’s teachers. Thank you so much!

Five Stars!! This book as helped me more than I can explain in words. It helped me remember to show gratitude and be appreciative that parents selected me to teach their child. It helped me remain humble. This book has helped me write useful guidance. Now I look for ways I can offer support to the child while in class. I’ve learned to “keep it fresh” and just repeat what we completed in the lesson. Thank you just isn’t enough for sharing this positive, uplifting resource.

5 stars! This book has not only helped me in writing better, more efficient reviews, but also helped me be a better teacher. Thank you, Ed, for a wonderful resource. Thanks for bridging the cultural gap between us and the VIPKid parents.

Not only has this book helped to refine my feedback, but my teaching as well. This has been a great refresher course for me. Looking forward to part 2!

This book actually helped me to do what I started out doing. I wrote feedbacks like this when I first began. However, I started listening to how I “should” have been writing them and changed my style. You gave me the confidence to write the way I would normally talk to parents in my classroom or in the VIPKID setting -thank you! YOU really helped me understand the Chinese family. I so enjoy these people and getting to know their culture better makes all of this even more worthwhile. After, I started writing feedbacks modelled in your book, I got feedbacks saying how much the parents appreciated my feedback-THANK YOU! I cannot wait for your next book!

This book has been a student saver! I have better feedback from my parents and I feel as though I am truly focusing my classes on what matters most–teaching personalized lessons to my students. Just reading through what parents expect of us helped me focus my teaching and remind me why I love this job! I keep a copy of the book loaded into my favorites so I can access it while leaving feedback when I have a question about a classroom or teaching situation for which I need advice. I can’t wait for the expanded edition. Can’t recommend it enough!!

Simple, easy to read, great ideas for writing great feedback for parents.

Ed’s book has significantly helped me leave worthwhile feedback. Before “Ed’s Way” I would simply copy generic feedback and add one personal note. It always made me feel like I wasn’t giving the student’s parents their money’s worth. The book is a fast and organized read. I read it over one time and when needed I go back to specific sections. When I first started leaving personalized feedback, it would take me longer, but now that I have practice, I can do it in a few minutes. Since I started leaving sincere feedback, I have retained more students and I have had two months with an increased parent feedback percentage. My favorite part of the book is how to address “tail sounds” and the concept of dialogue.
I am also a B&M teacher and I have used some wording on an IEP.
Cannot recommend this book enough! Just do it!

Awesome! A game changer! Helps so much with the challenging task of understanding cultural differences when adding feedback. Also, a great reminder that parents everywhere are doing the best they can to teach and guide their children even though it might look different. Love it!
