Description
I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews.
I also have an Expanded Edition of this book, available here!

JUST BUY IT. It’s what, the cost of teaching one class?
I debated getting this book for a few months. After all, I’m a pretty great teacher, and I’ve never gotten anything less than a “5 apple” review. I love writing letters, and I consider myself to be a warm, genuine person. In short, I wasn’t sure this book would actually tell me much that I hadn’t already figured out on my own. While many of the themes are familiar, I have to give Ed some major credit here. He delves into examples and specific scenarios (including MANY sample feedback sections) that address dozens of issues we’ve all undoubtedly come across in the classroom. This book is more than just about writing accurate, helpful feedback. The cultural awareness Ed demonstrates in his writing is the game changer for me. He has unique, in-person experience with ESL teaching and Chinese culture. The connections he makes in this book will genuinely make you excited to revamp your feedback and show your beloved students and parents what you really have to offer and how precious they are to you. Thank you for putting the time and energy into writing this, Ed! It’s phenomenal!

Teachers were talking on Facebook about getting 40% and higher rates of excellent parent reviews, and they credited Ed’s book. So I had to get it. I’m SO glad I did. It is gold for ESL teachers with Chinese students.
I’ve taught 3500+ lessons with VIP KID, I’m fully booked and I maintain a high rating in parent feedback, and I STILL LEARNED SO MUCH from Ed’s book. I had surmised some of this stuff by trial and error, but Ed teaches things I would never have figured out on my own. Boy this would saved me a lot of grief if I had this book when I started out. I am going to implement what I learned from Ed, starting with my next class. I got the small book because that’s all that was available at the time I bought it, but I’m getting the expanded version next.

This book provides real examples of how to say the things we want express as teachers. The language barrier between teachers and parents does not seem so huge anymore. Thank you for your guidance and support, Ed. Now, teachers, buy the book!

I have only used this for 9 days and I have gotten 27 five apples! I’m also able to complete my feedback in between back to back classes following his advice! My feedback is actually meaningful and not a regurgitated lesson plan!

Excellent book! I highly recommend it. I’ve been teaching online for almost 300 hours. This book helped me with feedback, but it also helped me be a better online ESL teacher in general. My parent rating went up after reading this book! Thanks!

Just pay for the extended version. Such a good book, totally worth the money, only wish I purchased it sooner. No matter what company you work for this applies to everyone. The author put a lot of thought and effort into every page of this book. Enjoy!
