Description
I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews.
I also have an Expanded Edition of this book, available here!

This book has made me rethink how I was doing my feedback. The tips are great when I get stuck and don’t know how to explain something I am trying to say.

Wow, this book is a gamechanger. From the first page I was able to glean insight I could put into practice ASAP! I am very grateful for this book. Not only has it helped with all facets of feedback, it’s helped me become a more effective teacher. HIGHLY recommend!

I have already noticed a change in how my parents receive and respond to my feedback. I look forward to using these techniques to build lasting relationships with my learners and their families. Thanks for making this awesome resource available, Mr. Nace! It is much appreciated!

As a new teacher, writing feedback was intimidating and just sort of like taking a shot in the dark. After reading this book, I feel confident that what I’m putting in my feedback is useful and meaningful to the parents. I have noticed an increase in the feedback I get from parents as well. I hope to purchase the more detailed book soon! Thank you Ed for creating such a valuable resource for teachers!

excellent. I would be lost without it.

Ed Nace has given me food for thought about how Chinese parents feel about feedback. They don’t just want the positives. They want to know how their children are speaking, writing and reading and how to fix it. Since implementing his strategies…I have received positive 5 star ratings and comments about how much the parents appreciate my correction of the students’ speaking. Best $10 I’ve spent! Thank you, Ed!

I am really thankful for Ed and for this book! I feel more prepared and more confident now when leaving feedback. I no longer outline the entire lesson! And now that I’ve gotten more used to Ed’s techniques, it doesn’t take me as long, either. Thank you so much, Ed – I really appreciate the help!
Dana Johnson –
Ed does a great job of giving practical and applicable advice and it is done in a humorous way. I appreciate that he has first-hand experience with the culture

I have always been confused on what to write in feedback and found myself in the mode of writing many paragraphs just on the content of the lesson. This has help direct my feedback constructively as well as understand how to make it relavant to the parent. Thank you!

So I read this edition of this book. I liked it and used it and felt good. Had a decent uptick in feedback, but didn’t really get more comments in parent feedback than I had before, which was fine. But! I recently had about 3 or 4 new students who were all similar (new level 1 boys, but fairly good for their age/level). I exclusively used Ed’s recommendations and techniques for my feedback and I get comments with 5 apples from every one of those parents every class!! It’s incredible. I think with my prior students the parents just saw business as usual even when I had changed. But it’s so cool to get such supportive and positive comments so often!! Thank you Ed!
