Description
I want this book to empower you to write feedback that parents will want to read. And you’ll pick up some tidbits on Chinese culture along the way.
After covering the principles I use to write useful feedback, I show you samples of how I word feedback in specific situations. I hope that this info will help you find your own unique voice and leave feedback that is useful, realistic, and inspiring. When you deliver an AMAZING experience both in the classroom and in the feedback box, parents tend to reciprocate with rave reviews.
I also have an Expanded Edition of this book, available here!

Thank you for sharing this review with me! Reading reviews is an important way to understand if the content in the purchase you are contemplating would give you value. As an online ESL teacher, the answer is a resounding YES! This book is filled to the brim with FABULOUS feedback guidance. Additionally, you will learn about teaching the Chinese ESL learner. Your ability to give honest, effective feedback to both parents and learning partners with increase. GREAT JOB Ed Nance! I look forward to devouring your other written material. -Teacher Mandy BA

Thank you, Ed Nace! I have a PhD in reading and literacy. I have taught many undergrad and graduate students and in-service teachers courses on how to teach children phonics and reading/ literacy skills. I conduct research on literacy and reading intervention efficacy. I know how to teach these essential skills and why they are important. But, until I read your book, I struggled to find the best way to communicate with parents from another culture and who speak a different language. Your book is invaluable!! My parent feedback speaks for itself. Parents often comment on their satisfaction with the class and appreciation for my feedback. Time for me to upgrade to the expanded addition and learn more! Never stop learning!

What a wonderful book. I was looking to improve my feedback and this helped a lot. I’m trying to implement Ed’s suggestions along with other YouTuber’s suggestions. He helped me to think about feedback in a totally different way. I’m grateful I found this book.

Thank you for helping me be the positive, inspiring teacher that I want to be. Your book not only gives me words to convey my thoughts but inspires me to respond with a loving heart of a great teacher! I always feel uplifted after reading how you address difficult feedback and situations. I just upgraded to the extended book. I’m usually very thrifty but your books are worth every penny! Well done!

Talk about pressure… trying to review a book that teaches you how to leave a review! I have only just started this book, but it has already transformed my feedback. I read it during SNS and between classes, so a little at a time. I had a pretty good baseline before purchasing it because of the FB group and using the “Ed Nace” and “Loud and Clear” templates on Feedback Panda. I’m excited to continue reading it!

It is fate… I JUST left this post on the Facebook Group and popped over to my email and the reminder to leave a review had just come to my inbox. Amazing :). Here is what I said on the FB group!
I bought your first book a couple weeks ago and finally sat down to go through it over the past couple of days. Thank you SO much! I was doing some of the things you note, but I feel that my feedback is already SO much more meaningful based on your suggestions and insights. This may be a coincidence, but I received three 5-apples just this morning from classes I taught yesterday and applied some of your feedback suggestions when writing their feedback. Totally could be due to my feedback changes!
I think the biggest ah-hah’s for me were your notes about why Chinese students omit ‘small’ words, and s’s. Precision vs. grammar. As well as the reminder, to students who may be struggling, that vowels have SO many sounds. AND to consider how English is taught in schools (for passing tests) vs learning it for conversation when working with students. AND just being super encouraging and positive – giving students and parents a glimmer of hope that they are going in the right direction – and to KEEP going!
Feedback IS taking me a little longer now, but with time and practice, I know I will be able to speed it up and maybe even get it all done between classes ;). Right now I’m just making notes and return back to finish it later :).
THANK YOU for a wonderful resource… I’m not quite finished going through the whole book, but I plan to do so this weekend. I may need to go buy the ‘big’ book now ?.
